We’ve been having a pretty busy month and wanted to give everyone some updates and add some pictures. Our June photo album can be found here. Josh and Aaron got to go to six flags for the first time and it went really well. Because we live so close, we went ahead and got season passes and its easy to just go for a couple hours here and there and we don’t have to worry about trying to spend the whole day there. Definitely an easier way to do things when you are dealing with toddlers. So we’ve already been twice, once to do some of the rides and the other time just to go to the Hurricane Harbor water park.
While Aaron was disappointed that he was not yet tall enough to ride the Screamin’ American Eagle roller coaster, he had a blast on all the rides that we were able to go on. As for Josh….well, that Big Red Car ride looked pretty scary and we didn’t quite make that one.
While Josh may not be the thrill seeker that his brother is, he did manage to go on some of the other rides including the Wiggle’s Fruit Salad ride, where we went at least 25 feet up in the air.
We also rode the train around the park and waved at everyone we saw!
The water park was also a lot of fun and I’m sure we’ll be back many times this summer. But sometimes it is still a bit much to deal with the six flags traffic so….
We’ve also been taking advantage of the kiddie pool in our back yard.
For Father’s day the boys were nice enough to take me to Milwaukee Zoo. We got to ride the train again and both Josh and Aaron had a lot of fun looking at all the animals. They both like the elephants but Aaron’s favorite was the giraffes while Josh was fascinated with the alpaca exhibit (no, I didn’t know what an alpaca was either).
It got kinda hot outside so Mommy got the idea of buying us a smaller plastic pool with a small slide on it. We have a much bigger blow up pool but Mommy thought Remy might make it a chew toy. We weren’t so thrilled to get in at first but then we didn’t want to get out!
Then we saw Sammy drink some water out of our pool and we thought, what a great idea! Josh was the one brave enough to try!
We had a blast.

We look longingly out the back door windows at our little blue pool everyday.
Yeah, I’m pretty late getting this post up as Remy has been with us for almost 2 weeks now, but we’ve been pretty busy. Two toddlers and a new puppy is a lot to handle….hard to keep your eyes going in three directions at once! But Remy is doing great and most of us are glad to have her as the newest member of our family (Aaron is still a hold out on that one…but he’ll come around).
Here are a few pictures of Remy and more can be found here .

Today we went to see Elmo, Bert & Ernie, Abby, Grover, Oscar, Big Bird, The Count, Rosita, Telly Monster, Baby Bear, Zoe and Cookie Monster! Wow, Mom and Dad thought we might get scared, but we LOVED it! Elmo is our favorite by far but it was so cool to see all our Sesame Street friends so close! We watched every minute of it. Daddy bought us Elmo balloons during intermission. Mommy was worried we would want to just play with the balloons during the last part of the show but we kept watching the show. Thank you Mommy and Daddy for a really fun day! Oh and Happy Mother’s Day Mommy!!!!
Love,
Josh & Aaron
Aaron finally got his first haircut this weekend! It’s only been almost a year since Josh’s first haircut, so we figured it was about time. Unlike his brother, Aaron was a champ and was perfect the whole time!
And when Aaron was done, it was Josh’s turn for his haircut. He should be an old pro at this now, right?
We had our tubes put in yesterday! Both Aaron and Josh had tubes put in each of their ears to help with all the problems we’ve had with ear infections over the last 9 months. The actual tubes are tiny cylinders placed through the ear drum to help better drain fluid and equalize pressure that was causing them discomfort and ear infections. Its possbile that all the ear infections have had a negative effect on the boys’ hearing, so this procedure should correct that. The tubes should fall out on their own in about a year.
The procedure was very minor as far as any surgery goes, but they still had to go under anesthesia for the first time so it was a little bit of a eventful day. But both boys did great and they were up and back to normal within a half hour or so of the actual surgery. It turns out the biggest issue was just not being able to eat breakfast and both Josh and Aaron were ready to pig out when we left the outpatient clinic to go out to lunch!
It’s official, we’re getting a yellow lab puppy! We went to go visit the breeder today and see the puppies that were born on March 20. There are 9 females and 1 male in the litter, which works out well as we wanted to get a female anyway. We don’t know which one will be ours yet, but they were all very cute. Our puppy should be ready to come home with us at about 7 or 8 weeks so that should be early May.
We just got back from our trip to St. Louis for Passover. Grandma and Grandpa Butzie had just closed on their new condo but they haven’t moved in yet, so we stayed at a hotel near Aunt Brook and Uncle Brian’s house.
This worked out great as the boys really enjoyed a chance to spend some time with their cousins, Coltyn and Camryn.
The drive down went pretty well, but our nap schedule got a bit screwed up so the first night at the hotel was a little bit rough, but after that everything went well.
We took advantage of the hotel’s indoor pool and did some swimming and we also went out to play at some nearby parks, including Queeny Park, which was Daddy’s favorite as a kid. However, I swear that the playground area used to be much bigger…
Uncle Danny and Jamie also came to St. Louis over the weekend to visit. It was great to get so many of us together, but we all missed Uncle Kirk; hopefully next time we can get everyone in town at the same time.
Great Grandma Kessler (GG) joined us all for lunch on Sunday and then for the Passover Seder at Meadowbrook Monday night.
Both Josh and Aaron were great at the Seder and were still playing and having a good time with their cousins an hour and half past their bedtime (which conveniently worked out well for a long nap during the drive home the next day).
We’ve updated our March Album to include all of our pictures from the trip.
