Busy Weekend

Attempting to get a picture of all the Grandsons with Papa

Attempting to get a picture of all the grandsons with Papa - it didn't go so well

We’ve had a pretty busy last few days. On Thursday we went up to Milwaukee to celebrate birthdays for Papa Les and Aunt Laura. Zac was in town again and we tried to get a picture of Papa with his five grandsons, but didn’t get a whole lot of cooperation from all the boys. We’ll try again next time!

Then on Sunday we drove out to Grandma Pat and Grandpa Frank’s in Indiana. It was a gorgeous day, so Grandma and Grandpa took the boys to the park. Josh and Aaron both had a great time on the swings and then Aaron went down the slide with Grandma (Josh was pooped out by then and ready for his nap).

Pictures are online for Papa’s Birthday and for our visit with Grandma and Grandpa.

Josh’s First Haircut (in his own words)

Well Mommy finally caved and decided it was time for me to get my haircut!  I was a little bit cautious when the whole process started. (Which means I have my serious face)  Then a nice lady put on an Elmo movie for me and Aaron to watch…but daddy kept taking pictures of me sitting in a jeep chair.  The nice lady sprayed water on my hair and started cutting my hair…after about 2 minutes of this I wasn’t too skeptical anymore, I was NOT HAPPY!

Trying hard to tolerate this

Mommy helped me calm down a little, but then the not so “nice lady” turned on this buzzing thing and I got really scared and really not happy!   But then it was all over and everyone said I looked like a big boy now which almost made my Mommy cry.  I got a blue

balloon and a certificate from the lady and I was so ready to go home.  On the way home, I told Aaron he was so lucky that he didn’t have to do this yet.

Really Not Happy!

Some new pictures for May

Don't Feed the Animals!

Don't Feed the Animals!

Sorry I haven’t updated the pictures lately, but just added some picutures to the May folder which you can find here.

We’ve had a busy last few weeks, the boys are both all over the place and curious about everything. They’ve enjoyed the warm weather and have gotten to take some nice trips to the park.

We completed our first swimming class, both boys earning their first certificate of acheivement.  They both love splashing in the water and are looking forward to being able to swim in the outdoor pool in Gurnee and at Grandpa and Grandma’s in Milwaukee.

Josh and Aaron Ain’t Gonna Take It Anymore!

Josh and Aaron have had it and they ain’t gonna take it anymore! They’ve made a new video to tell you about it. Be sure to watch all the way to the end for the big surprise ending.

We had a problem with YouTube this time; they apparently rejected the video because of a copyright issue (use of the the song in the background), so I’m trying out another option, Vimeo. Right now, I’m just running a 960X540 version on here; but if Vimeo works out I may pay the yearly fee for the service and can then embed HD videos on the site.  Anyway, it seems to work pretty well so far, but please let me know if you have trouble.

I’ve also got a bunch of pictures to go through from the last couple weeks; I’ll try to get those up today or tomorrow and make another post with details.  Hope everyone has a nice holiday weekend!

Update

Ok so I’m thinking that Daddy should sell his idea of how to get a baby ready for crawling because I forgot to mention on here that when I returned from my Houston trip Aaron was able to crawl! He’s much faster now but occasionally will “faceplant” into the floor. Aaron we love you but I really wish you wouldn’t hit your face on the hardwood floor so often. :)
Josh- wow you are really on the move. You have been keeping everyone on their toes by always having to keep an eye on you. You have been really busy pulling yourself up to stand on EVERYTHING! The toy bin, exersaucer, table, chairs, sliding glass door….Phew. Aaron, we’re getting used to this now, we’re ready for you because you keep trying to stand. I’ll have to try to sneak a picture of you when you are doing this because you try: feet on floor, butt in the air, knees straight, head and hands on the floor- at least 4-5 times a day. So cute.

Five Guys – including three small fries

Grandpa Les's new favorite "Five Guys"

Grandpa Les's new favorite "Five Guys"

While Grandpa Les and Grandma Jodi are still down in Florida, we got all o their grandchildren together for the first time today and took some pictures of all five boys together.  Pictures are here.
Zac, Josh and Aaron
This was actually our first time meeting Zac. Josh and Aaron are really lucky to have a cousin that is almost the same age as them as Zac was born just one month after the boys.  Everyone had a fun time playing together and we hope to get together again soon. While Josh and Aaron were disappointed to learn that Zac lives in New York, they were excited when they learned that Zac and his parents will probably be spending a lot of time during the summers in Milwaukee so we hope that there will be many more visits to come.

Pictures from Last Month’s Trip to St. Louis

Aaron says "I'm GG's favorite!"

Aaron says "I'm GG's favorite!"

Sorry for the delay in getting pictures up from last months trip to St. Louis. We had been unable to find the camera for a few weeks and thought we had left it in St. Louis. Turns out we had it all along  – whoops! Anyway, I just uploaded the pictures to our Picasa account and you can view the album here.

This was a fun trip, the boys were great during the car ride each way and entertained everyone during the passover seder.  The highlight of trip was getting to spend some time with GG (Great Grandma Kessler).

Leroy “Brown” Weil 1999 – 2009

Leroy at the Point (2001)

Leroy at the Point (2001)

I know this blog is usually for good news, but I guess its appropriate to use it for other stuff about our family as well. Today we lost a member of our family as Melissa and I made the very difficult decision to put Leroy down. He has really deteriorated over the last year to the point where he was barely able to use his back legs at all. Over the last couple days, we realized that it was time. As much as we wanted to put off this day, it was the right thing to do.

Leroy was a great dog for almost 11 years and we will always miss and love him.
