Aaron’s 1st Tooth is breaking in!!!!

1st tooth milestone

Yay Aaron! No wonder you’ve been a bit more crabby lately!  :)  Your 1st tooth  is just breaking through the gums on the bottom of your mouth.

We love you baby!

Mommy is back!

HoustonHouston So I’ve been in Houston, TX for 4 days at an AOTA conference.  I missed my boys very much while I was away but was very happy to see them in their videos that daddy made and the ability to see them on Skype.  I had a great time in Houston and learned a lot for work.  Hopefully next time everyone can come with me!  So while I was away Aaron learned to crawl!  Yay Aaron :)  and Josh’s top teeth are coming in more and more.  We missed our swim class on Sunday but we got to spend the day with Grandma Pat to celebrate her birthday and Uncle Mike and Aunt Kelly to celebrate their 12th anniversary.  Whew we’re tired :)

Aaron – Time to Crawl!

Josh "Mickey" Weil

Everything is going well with the boys and me while Melissa is out of town. We had all day Saturday for just the three of us to hangout and Josh and I decided that’s it time that Aaron learned to crawl. Josh has been pretty mobile for a few weeks now and he was getting anxious for his  brother to catch up so that they could cause more trouble together. So it was decided – Coach Josh was going to put Aaron on an intense training regimen and get him crawling!

Coach Joshua “Mickey” Weil  tells Aaron “you’re gonna eat lighting and you’re gonna crap thunder!”

Made a few changes….

Ok, played around with the site a bit and made a few changes that I think make the blog more usable (such as changing the color of the text for the posts to black, getting rid of extraneous information for each post other than author and date, and making the comments function a bit easier to use).  Please let me know if anything doesn’t look right or doesn’t seem to be working right…as far as I can tell everything seems to be working, which is pretty surprising.  Generally, it’s not a good idea for me to monkey around with code, as I usually break things and end up having to call Landy to come fix the mess :)

Mommy is gone until Saturday!

Melissa left Wednesday morning for Houston to attend an OT conference so the boys and I are on our own until Saturday evening.  See the video below to see what they’ve been up to since Mommy has been gone:

Welcome to Our New Blog

Aaron

Melissa got to start things off below, but I wanted to jump in and welcome everyone to our new blog.  Previously we just linked the WeilBoys.com website directly to our pictures at Picasa, but we thought it would be better if we tried to write on a regular basis to let everyone know what the boys are up to and hopefully provide some context for our pictures. You can still get to all of our pictures on the picasa site just by clicking on the link on the left labeled “pictures of us” or just click here

While it’s great that we have so many family members and friends that would actually enjoy looking at this blog, the bigger reason that we are going to try to do this is that we want this to be a digital scrapbook to help record all the exciting times to come for our family. So, why a digital scrapbook rather than the more traditional craft style scrapbook? Well there are two main reasons: (1)  have you ever seen me try to do any type of crafts project or ever just tried to read my handwriting?  Either my contribution would look like it was done by the kids (for a few years at least, I’m sure their art skills will surpass mine by the time they are 4) or Melissa would be on her own – at least this way I get to actually participate and add value; and (2) the blog format allows the scrapbook to be interactive and involve anyone that wants to participate. You can comment on any post that we make on here and we encourage you do so freely!  I think it will be a reaJoshlly neat experience for the boys when they are older to look back at this blog/scrapbook and see what Mommy and Daddy had to say about what they were doing at the time, but the experience will be greatly enhanced if they also will get to see comments and reactions from their grand parents, aunts, uncles, etc.

So I guess, that’s my introduction. I am going to really make an effort to post on here regularly and Melissa plans to do the same, so we’re excited that this will be a successful ongoing project for a long time to come.  So if you like it, please be sure to let us know (preferably by participating) and help encourage us to keep it up!

9 Months old!

Aren’t we cute?

9 Months

Josh is an avid crawler.  He began on April 3rd and is now working on trying to pull himself up with furniture.  He is currently settling for playing on his knees and leaning against anything that will allow him to.  He LOVES to try to feed himself everything I let him have and has learned from Sam and Leroy how to come over to us to try to get our food during meals.  He has three teeth with a fourth coming in.  (Bottom two were first then the top two) He babbles frequently but loves to see how loud he can yell and scream for fun.

Aaron is a bit more of an observer.  He sits very well and loves to cuddle.  He is not yet crawling but can rock back and forth in an all-fours position.  He attempts to move but ends up going backwards….which frustrates him as his toy gets further away!  Aaron has no teeth at this time but has been doing just fine with eating the same things as Josh.  He’s mommy’s little monkey because he’s very flexible.

Both of the boys currently eat 4 times a day and nap 2 – 3 times a day.  Their favorite foods are sweet potatoes, peas, puffs, yogurt melts and any/all fruits.  They are very good boys as they continue to sleep 11-12 hours a night! :)  Even though they are only 9 months old, they have weekly playdates with regular friends- Jake & Sophie (twins) Jaxon, Ryder and Joaquin.  Stay tuned for more updates!
